The Oklahoma Paralegal Association provides many opportunities for networking and connecting with fellow paralegals in the state, including continuing legal education webinars and conferences throughout the year.
Membership Options
Active Membership

Active Membership includes those who have been certified by NALA and their certification is current, and persons employed as legal assistants or paralegals under the supervision of an attorney or Judge.
Associate Membership

Associate Memberships are available to persons directly involved in the employment or supervision of legal assistants or paralegals, and members of the legal community who support legal assistants and paralegals, or whose work is law-related such as mediation specialists and assistants for legal aid offices.
Student Membership

Student Memberships are for students of an institutionally accredited legal assistant program.

Corporate or Sustaining Membership

Corporate or Sustaining Memberships are available to members of the bar association endorsing the legal assistant concept or who are involved in the promotion of the legal assistant profession.
Retired Member

An Active Member in good standing who reaches the age 62, or has retired due to physical disability, who has a total of five consecutive years of OPA membership and is no longer working as a paralegal may request Retired Member classification.
Emeritus Member

Emeritus Membership is open to any individual, upon nomination by an OPA director and by approval of not less than 2/3 of the members present at a regular meeting, who has met certain qualifications.
Honorary Life Member
Honorary Life Members include all past presidents of the Association and active OPA members who have retained their membership for at least 20 years.
